2008 BMW M5: Interior

Interior Seating and Trim

The New 2008 BMW M5 is equipped with 18-way power-adjustable BMW M sport front seats, including adjustable seatback side bolsters, headrests, 4-way lumbar and 2-way thigh support, and 2-setting memory system for both front seats.

Audio System

It's a sound experience as remarkable as the BMW driving experience. Unlike traditional stereo systems, Logic7 routes two-channel (stereo) sound through a seven-channel playback matrix to create 360-degree Surround Sound. The anti-theft AM/FM stereo CD/MP3 player audio system includes 13 upgraded speakers (including 2 subwoofers), Digital Sound Processing (DSP), Radio Data System (RDS), Auto-Store and 3-channel FM diversity antenna, and it displays MP3 song title and artist.

Voice Command System

This system allows you to dial, add or delete stored telephone numbers hands-free. It can also activate numerous navigation system functions and record up to five minutes of notes. The Voice Command button must be pressed before each use, so conversations won't accidentally activate the phone or other systems.

On Board Navi System with RTTI

With the route taken care of, you can concentrate on more important things - like enjoying every twist and turn along the way. Our optional onboard navigation system, controlled via iDrive, uses GPS satellites, a DVD map and, where available, Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) to guide you to your destination. Choose the fastest route, the shortest route or the one that avoids traffic.

Out With The Old In With The New: BMW M3 V8 Engine

BMW’s new and upcoming E92 BMW M3 marks the shift to V8 power after 15 years of six-cylinder power. The E46 M3’s 3.2 liter straight-six was a legend, and is still being used by the current Z4 M Coupe and Roadster. This 3.2 liter engine stole the ‘Engine of the Year’ award multiple times. It made 343hp in its latest edition. But now in the M3, it’s time for it to bow and leave the stage and makes way for its successor, the new BMW M V8 engine.

This new engine displaces 3,999cc and makes 420hp at 8,300rpm, It’s a screamer, revving all the way to the redline of 8,400rpm. Torque peaks at 3,900rpm with 400Nm (Newton meters), with 340Nm available from as low as 2,000rpm. The new 4.0 liter V8 is also amazingly lighter than the 3.2 liter inline-6 it replaces, weighing in at a mere 202kg, 15kg lighter than the inline-6, despite an additional 2 cylinders and all the extra valve train parts for a 90 degree V-design.

2008 BMW M3: Interior

The interior of the all new 2008 BMW M3 provides a maximum driving experience. The double circular gauges with white illumination and red needles are one feature. Also the newly designed centre console provides a new look for the M3's interior.

M logos are also placed all over the interior of the car to emphasize the true performance, power and sporty appearance of the vehicle.
